What's new at Birdie: August 2022

Table of contents

Each and every day, the sun is starting to set a little bit earlier and we slowly look to bring out some extra layers. That can only mean one thing: Autumn is around the corner, and I for one cannot wait. Just like I cannot wait to share what the team has been up to in the month of August!

Let's go!

Capture communication preferences for your Care Recipients

It is incredibly important that you’re equipped with a tool that enables your caring approach to shine through. About Me is your tool for promoting connection between care recipients and care professionals.

As well as housing the most pertinent information about your care recipients such as routines and what their allergies are, you’ll now be able to capture key elements related to the Accessible Information Standard.

Capture communication preferences in About Me

We’ve also added contingency planning questions for you to answer and document.

Contingency planning questions in About Me

For any Care Recipient, you can now find these new sections within the Agency Admin tab of the About Me profile.

Helping with mandatory NHS data submission

Following the new data submission mandate issued by the Department of Health and Social Care, our team quickly looked to see how Birdie can help support you collect and surface this data!

New report in Birdie Analytics

As a result, we’ve now created two new reports in Birdie Analytics, including:

  • COVID Vaccination Report, giving a summary of the COVID-19 vaccination status across your entire care team.
  • Individuals with Reported Visits, providing an immediate view of the total number of care recipients that have been visited by your agency within the last month - as well the total count of staff who have had face-to-face contact with care recipients in that same period.

Please note: vaccination status is available as part of Birdie’s All-in-One Platform. Interested in seeing how you can benefit or in accessing Birdie Analytics, please contact your Account Manager!

Coming soon: Quickly understand Profit and Loss across your care business

The team is currently working on a new report that will allow you to quickly get an understanding of Profit and Loss across your agency.

Profit and Loss Report

This report will be available as part of Birdie’s All-in-On Platform. Watch this space!

Filter down to exactly what you need when generating invoices!

When it comes to invoices, we know you may have different invoice cycles for different types of care - or for different funders. As a result, the team has made some improvements, making it easy to filter down to exactly the information you need when generating invoices!

Filter by Invoice Group

You’ll now be able to add an ‘invoice group’ to any contract, and then filter within the Invoice Dashboard to pull up a list of invoices just for that specific group.

Please note: this feature is available as part of Birdie’s Essentials Package.

ICYMI: Changes to Finance Tab access

Previously, only those who had access to the Finance Tab, typically Finance and Payroll Managers, were able to see this within Birdie’s Agency Hub. However, we understand that sometimes others on your team may be responsible for confirming visits - or may need to provide cover for this in the case of an absence.

As a result, we’ve made some updates to how the Visit Confirmation screen is accessed within the Agency Hub:

  • Those without Finance Tab access will now see the Finance Tab at the top of their Agency Hub screen, but once within, will only see and have access to the Visit Confirmation screen.
  • Those with approved access to the Finance Tab will continue to see all aspects of the Finance Tab as normal.

As always, you can see what we’re cooking up next on our Public Roadmap here!

See you next time! 👋
